Quality & specification

Pulses and grains graded
the way food manufacturers specify them.

For a canning or packing line, a pulse lot is only usable if the calibre is uniform, the purity is right and the cooking quality is consistent. Before a shipment is confirmed we align variety, calibre, purity, moisture, crop year and packaging with your specification sheet — and document it on the certificate of analysis that travels with the goods.

  • Food-safety complianceLots tested against EU limits for pesticide residues (incl. glyphosate and chlorpyrifos), heavy metals, mycotoxins and GMO status; accredited lab reports supplied with the shipment.
  • Purity, calibre & moistureSortex colour-sorted, de-stoned and sieved to 99.5%+ purity; calibre confirmed by sample; moisture 12–14% and foreign matter, splits and damaged kernels agreed per lot.
  • Packaging to your line25 kg PP or paper bags, 500–1,250 kg big bags, bulk-loaded containers with liner, or retail packs 500 g – 5 kg under your label.

Who we supply

Bulk pulses and grains for every channel.

A hummus producer, a canner and a retail packer specify the same chickpea differently. These are the four channels we serve most.

Plant-Based & Health Food

Retail Packers & Private Label

Uniform-calibre pulses, basmati and jasmine rice and bulgur for 500 g – 5 kg retail packs, labelled to your artwork for supermarkets and ethnic retail.

Wholesalers & Food Service

Buyer questions

Pulses & grains wholesale — frequently asked.

What is the minimum order quantity for pulses and grains?

For most products the practical minimum is one pallet (around 1,000 kg) per item, which can be combined with other Plusimpex products into a mixed container. A 20 ft container holds roughly 20–24 t bagged; full loads and annual programmes receive the most competitive pricing.

Which chickpea sizes and origins do you supply?

Kabuli chickpeas in 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 mm calibres from Türkiye, Russia, Argentina, Mexico, Canada and India, plus Desi chickpeas. For hummus and canning, 8–9 mm is the standard; 10–12 mm is used for retail and roasting. Calibre and origin are always stated on the offer.

Are your pulses and rice compliant with EU pesticide limits?

Yes. Every lot is tested at origin, and for higher-risk products such as basmati rice and lentils again on arrival, against EU maximum residue levels including glyphosate, chlorpyrifos and tricyclazole. Reports are supplied with the shipment.

Can you supply organic or non-GMO certified pulses and grains?

Yes. EU-certified organic chickpeas, lentils, quinoa, rice and oats are available, and all pulses and grains are supplied with a non-GMO declaration. Organic lead times are longer and minimums may be higher, so let us know early in the enquiry.

How should pulses and grains be stored and how long do they keep?

Stored dry (moisture below 14%), cool and ventilated, away from pests, pulses and whole grains keep 24 months and rice 12–18 months. Flaked and milled products are best used within 6–12 months. See our storage guides.

Do you deliver outside the Netherlands?

Yes — we ship throughout the EU, the UK, Scandinavia and the Middle East. Quotes are given on your preferred Incoterm, and we can arrange transport to your plant or warehouse under DAP or DDP.
