Quality & cold chain

Vegetables that arrive
in the condition they were bought.

With fresh vegetables the margin sits in shelf life: a day lost in transit is a day lost on the shelf. We buy to EU marketing standards, inspect at loading and monitor every truck and reefer from packhouse to Rotterdam, so that what was graded Class I at origin is still Class I when it reaches your customer.

  • Certification & residuesGlobalG.A.P. and GRASP certified growers, packhouses with BRCGS or IFS; lots tested against EU maximum residue levels, with extra sampling for peppers and herbs on the EU reinforced-control list.
  • Grade, size & colour stageClass I / Extra to EU and UNECE marketing standards; calibre, colour stage, firmness and uniformity agreed per product and confirmed by pre-loading inspection with photos.
  • Cold chain & packagingPre-cooling at origin, product-specific set-points (e.g. 10–12 °C for tomatoes and cucumbers, 0–2 °C for herbs and roots), temperature loggers in every load; crates, cartons, nets, flow-packs or punnets to your specification.

Buyer questions

Fresh vegetable import — frequently asked.

What is the minimum order for fresh vegetables?

From Rotterdam stock or groupage trucks, one pallet per product. For direct programmes from origin, a full refrigerated truck (33 pallets) or reefer container; mixed loads with several products from the same origin are standard for Turkish and Spanish programmes.

Which origins supply tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers through the winter?

From October to May the main origins are Türkiye (Antalya), Morocco (Agadir) and Spain (Almería), with Egypt for onions and potatoes. From May to October Dutch and Belgian glasshouse production takes over. We publish an origin calendar per product on request.

How do you guarantee quality on arrival?

Pre-loading inspection with photos and colour-stage / firmness checks, temperature loggers in every truck or container, and an arrival check in Rotterdam. Claims are handled against the inspection report and logger data, with an independent survey where required.

Can you supply Middle Eastern and Turkish specialty vegetables?

Yes. Sivri and charleston peppers, kemer and baby aubergines, Lebanese cucumbers, vine leaves, molokhia, fresh chickpeas, broad beans, sabzi herb mixes, fresh fenugreek and purslane are supplied in season for Turkish, Persian and Arabic retail and food service.

Can you supply pre-packed or retail-ready vegetables?

Yes. Flow-packs, punnets, nets and trays can be packed at origin or re-packed in the Netherlands under your label, with PLU stickers and EAN barcodes to your retail specification.

Which markets do you deliver to?

Throughout the EU, the UK and Scandinavia by refrigerated truck within 24–72 hours of Rotterdam, and by reefer container for re-export to the Gulf. Quotes are given on your preferred Incoterm under DAP or DDP.
